IMBAC Alpine Club
Located in Smiggin Holes, IMBAC is an on snow lodge accommodation for members and their guests.
In summer the club accepts bookings from the public as well as members. It has been providing accommodation and supporting juniors to learn to ski and race through the junior training program since 1966. IMBAC’s great hospitality, along with the uniqueness of Smiggin Holes, makes it popular with families who return year after year.
While the lodge is founded on promoting skiing, it is available all year with the option to hire the whole lodge. We welcome not only skiers and boarders, but bush walkers and school groups to name a few.
It has a large communal lounge/ dining area and a well-appointed kitchen. It also has a bar where you can catch up and enjoy a few beverages with other guests after a rewarding day in the mountains. Downstairs we have a large games room for the kids equipped with an entertainment system, DVDs and table tennis table.
IMBAC has six two-person and five four-person bedrooms for up to 32 people with shared newly renovated bathrooms throughout. It also has a ski storage room, repair benches, locker access and a drying room.
During the winter season the lodge is fully catered and run by live-in managers who provide three meals a day including hot breakfast, and a three course dinner. All linen and towels are provided for your stay in winter.

🌿 Summer Bookings
Enjoy exclusive use of the club during summer — perfect for family holidays or group getaways. You’ll have the whole lodge to yourselves! Guests provide their own food, bedding, and towels, and are asked to leave the club sparkling clean for the next party. ❄️ Winter Bookings
Winter is what IMBAC is famous for! The lodge is open for the full snow season. Member bookings usually open from 1 January, with Guest-only bookings opening from 1 February. Keep an eye on our newsletter SnowYak for announcements and updates.
