Where is IMBAC located?
IMBAC is located at 15 Plum Pine Road in the heart of Perisher Valley at Smiggin Holes.
From Sydney, it’s an easy 6 hour drive, 5hours from Wollongong and only 2.5 hours from Canberra.
On foot from the main Smiggin’s carpark, walk between Heidi’s and Rhythm up the track, continuing between Wild Spitz and Moelina lodges. IMBAC is directly behind Wild Spitz. The walk from the car park to IMBAC is approximately 100 metres.
How to get to IMBAC
IMBAC CARPARK
Go to the top of the Smiggin’s car park and turn right up the hill onto Plum Pine Road. This road is kept snow-free (weather permitting) and you can drive your car right to IMBAC to drop off your gear. The IMBAC car park is located on a small side access road. Drive to your left, just past Altitude ski lodge. Some parking is available in the IMBAC carpark for an additional fee, which must be requested with your booking.
As IMBAC has limited parking spaces available to purchase with your stay, we offer a free shuttle service between the Sawpit Creek car park and IMBAC. This operates Friday to Sunday for changeovers. However, upon request special arrangements can be made outside of these times.
FROM SMIGGINS CARPARK
Travelling from Jindabyne, turn right into the Smiggins Car Park. On your right, or to the east, look up behind the Rhythm ski shop and you will see the big green roofed lodge at the top of the hill which is IMBAC.
SKI TUBE
You can leave your car in the overnight security patrolled carpark at the Bullocks Flat Skitube Terminal free of charge and travel to Perisher via the Skitube. Please note that sktitube fares are not included in your rates.
Your lift ticket can include the free shuttle bus from perisher terminal to Smiggin’s Holes, please ask when you purchase your tickets. Your Skitube ticket includes your National Park entry.
The Skitube is a convenient and innovative train ride from Bullocks Flat through the Ramshead range onto Perisher Valley in 10 minutes. The Skitube departs regularly during Peak season.
Please note that some time restrictions apply during peak season for guests traveling with luggage in peak hours.
HANS OVERSNOW
Hans Oversnow offer transfer services throughout perisher valley including to Smiggins. You can contact them on (02) 6457 5334 to discuss transport options and fare charges. Please note that Hans Oversnow fares are not included in your rates and bookings are essential for late arrivals.
Parking
There is a limited number of parking spaces available for members and guests. These spots are available for $60 for the weekend or $120 for the mid-week period. Lodge parking can be pre-booked and paid for when you make your booking.
Should you be using the allocated parking spot on a Friday or Sunday (change over days) you will need to remove the vehicle to the public carpark so that other guests can drop their luggage off. Please refer to notice board in foyer regarding this. Your vehicle needs to be removed from the carpark by 8am and not to be returned to the IMBAC carpark until 5pm.
If parking spots are not available, guests are welcome to take advantage of the IMBAC Troop Carrier to shuttle to and from the free public car park within the National Park at Sawpit Creek (there is no overnight parking in the Smiggin’s car park). A valid National Parks Pass is required on your vehicle both when parked at IMBAC or at the Sawpit Creek Car Park.
